Mitxoda Weekly #14 – 2024 Recap
Celebrating a year of creativity, connection, and indie vibes with Mitxoda

Song of the Week : Seconde Vie by Mitxoda (released on August 07, 2024).
Hi friend!
Can you believe it’s already the end of 2024? What a ride this year has been for Mitxoda and the indie music fam! We've shared so many cool stories, epic tunes, and inspiring moments together. So let’s take a sec to look back at some of the best bits from the year.
As the curtain falls on 2024, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for everything this year has brought. From releasing music that pushed my creative limits to connecting with so many amazing people, this year has been one for the books. It’s not just about the milestones, though. It’s about the moments, big and small, that have shaped this journey.
This year, Mitxoda Weekly became a regular weekly newsletter touching more than 120 people. It slowly turns into a gathering place for indie music lovers, a space to share our passion, and a way to support each other’s creative dreams. New releases, shoutouts or collaborations are part of a bigger story we’re writing together. Looking back, I’m reminded of how music has this magical way of bringing people together, and that’s exactly what this year has been about.
So in this special year-end edition, I’ve gathered some highlights, stories, and memories from 2024 to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished as a community. Whether you’ve been here since day one or just joined the journey, you’ve played an incredible part in making this year so special. Let’s relive it all together.
Thank you for your support
New Releases:This year was all about breaking boundaries and telling some incredible stories through music. Here’s the lineup I was able to share thanks to YOU:
Echo Plastique: My debut track, dropping on May 10, 2024.
Etoiles d'Asphalte: A fan favorite during its Weekly Rally debut.
La Vie File: A deeply personal take on friendship.
SPA, je te hais: A raw and emotional shout into the night about my illness.
Prognosis: My first-ever 6-track EP, a 19-minute prog rock journey that’s nothing short of special.
Seconde Vie: An honest dive into life behind the mask.
Say My Name: Because let’s be real, Mitxoda isn’t the easiest name to say!
Sourire au Chaos: A signature mix of chanson and electro-rock vibes.
No Rescue (feat. Sonophagen): My first English collab, hitting 170 streams in its first week.
At Xmas Time I’m Always High: A fun, festive ode to Christmas spirit.
Distant and Close: My second EP, also my first vinyl release, featuring instrumentals like Desertland, Darkness, Time Drift, and Digital Detox.
Thank you for the collabs
Exciting Collaborations: 2024 was full of amazing partnerships that brought the music to life:
Adding Caroline Dorian’s voice on La Chute was spectacular.
Teaming up with Sonophagen for No Rescue.
Singing on Timtmmusic’s super cool track, There Aren’t Alligators in Chicago, Right? We clicked so well, I’m already itching for more collabs!
A new project with Kymskreations is cooking. She brought the lyrics, I built the sound. You’ll hear it in January, and trust me, it’s worth the wait.
I am also working with Nadine de Macedo on another remix!
Thank you for the Connection
Community and Connection: This year, the Mitxoda Weekly became so much more than just a newsletter. It turned into a hub for all things indie. Sharing music, stories, and even campaigns like Lisa’s GoFundMe felt like a giant group hug. Oh, and massive props to the OTAT247 crew, vox+stix, Sweet Beets Indie Music Discovery, Whiskey Club Reviews and many more, for being the glue that holds so much of this together, their passion for indie is unmatched. Honestly, the love and energy in this community just hit differently this year.
Thank you for the highlights
Memorable Moments: Wow, 2024 brought some wild highlights. From finally holding my first vinyl to seeing Seconde Vie light up the radios, this year was packed with moments that hit me right in the feels. And can we talk about Bandcamp for a sec? It’s seriously the place for connecting with all of you on a deeper level, even if I still need to grow that part of the community.
Thank YOU to be you

Historical fact : The Curtain Rises on Radio City Music Hall
On December 27 1932, 92 years ago, Radio City Music Hall, the iconic entertainment venue in New York City, opened its doors for the first time. Located within Rockefeller Center, the theater was designed in the stunning Art Deco style by Edward Durell Stone and Donald Deskey. Nicknamed The Showplace of the Nation, it originally featured stage shows and later became renowned for hosting major film premieres, concerts, and events. With its impressive 5,960-seat auditorium, it was the largest theater of its kind when it debuted. Over the decades, Radio City has become a cultural landmark, hosting everything from the Grammy Awards to the famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular, remaining a vibrant hub of entertainment to this day.
Here it is! A little slice of history shared just for you!
