Dear indie friends,
Some weeks push you forward.
Others… pull you back.
Not in a bad way. Not as a failure.
But movement is not always progress, and noise is not always meaning.
These 2 weeks felt like that.
A moment where everything around keeps accelerating, releasing, posting, announcing…
and somewhere inside, a small voice asks:
“Do we still take the time to think?”
So this Weekly is not here to rush you.
It’s here to pause with you.
Mitxoda
Time to Resource
We often talk about resources like they are external.
Tools. Platforms. Contacts. Opportunities.
But the indie world has always known something deeper:
The real resource… is attention.
Where you place it.
How long you keep it there.
What you allow it to become.
Every track you truly listen to is a resource.
Every artist you support is a resource.
Every moment you spend feeling instead of scrolling… is a resource.
And yet, it’s the one thing we burn the fastest.
Because everything is built to take it from us.
So maybe the question is not:
“Do I have enough resources?”
But rather:
“Where am I investing them?”
Time to Think
Thinking has become… uncomfortable.
Not because it’s hard.
But because it requires silence.
And silence today feels almost suspicious.
No notification.
No update.
No “new release just dropped”.
Just space.
But that space is where things connect.
It’s where a melody suddenly makes sense.
Where a lyric hits deeper than expected.
Where you realize why a certain artist stayed with you… while others disappeared.
Thinking is not about analyzing everything.
It’s about letting things land.
And maybe we don’t give enough time for that anymore. Do we?
The Indie Paradox
We are surrounded by more music than ever.
More access.
More tools.
More voices.
And yet…
It’s becoming harder to feel something that stays.
Not because artists are doing less.
But because we are absorbing too fast.
Indie was never about speed. At least, IMHO.
It was about intention.
About choosing to listen differently.
About allowing rough edges.
About discovering slowly.
So maybe this is where we stand today:
Between infinite access…
and limited attention.
Between creation…
and digestion.
Between time to resource…
and time to think.
A Quiet Invitation
This week, I won’t ask you to click more.
I won’t push you toward ten new tracks.
Instead…
Take one.
Just one.
Listen to it fully.
Without doing anything else.
Without skipping.
Without checking your phone.
And see what happens.
You might rediscover something we are slowly losing.
Not music.
But connection.
Clap ONE YEAR!
One year. Fifty-two moments carved out of noise, built with care, shared with whoever chose to listen. Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda was never meant to be a place for one sound, one scene, or one language, it became something else entirely. A space where differences don’t divide. Where a lo-fi whisper can sit next to a metal storm, where a folk story in one language answers an electronic pulse in another, where borders dissolve the second you press play. So wherever you come from, whatever you create, however you express it, this is your place too. No gatekeeping, no hierarchy, no rules written in advance. Just people, sounds, stories… crossing paths. One year in, and the only thing that truly matters is this: we are here, together. Not as categories. Not as algorithms. But as one, moving through music, discovering each other, one moment at a time.
This week’s Top 10 isn’t about winning prizes, it’s about love, support, and staying in it together.

Every Friday at 4:00 PM (Brussels time) a new episode of Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda will take place on salon.mitxoda.be, don’t miss it.
